favorite eats!

barrio

cleveland, ohio | tremont

My last meal on this earth will likely be Mexican. Tacos to be exact. So it’s no wonder that Barrio has made my list. I love this place so much that my husband and I had their 2 food trucks come all the way to Sandusky to cater our wedding (for almost 400 guests- bless their hearts). Specialty tacos, margaritas and a guacamole bar at a wedding reception? Umm yes please! We got married in 2016 and people still talk about our food at our wedding. We really stay loyal to the original Barrio in Tremont since this is where we first lived once we moved to the Cleveland area after moving from Kansas City but there are two other locations: downtown Cleveland by East 4th and then in Lakewood. Regardless which location you go to, the food will not disappoint. From building your own tacos with PLENTY of options for all dietary preferences to monthly specials for the guacamole, queso dip and tacos, you’re sure to find something that will please your taste buds. They also have a killer brunch! When the weather is nice, the patio at the Tremont location is a local favorite.

black pig

cleveland, ohio | ohio city

Located in Ohio City in an adorable exposed brick-wall space, Black Pig offers a great European-inspired cuisine in Cleveland. My husband and I love to go here for a date night. If the weather is nice, the patio is a great space to enjoy a selection of the locally sourced and seasonal dishes. Black Pig also offers a full bar with excellent cocktails, craft beers and an extensive wine selection. We typically end up staying at the bar to eat our food because the vibe and service is one of a kind, however this applies all throughout the restaurant. If you’re into brunch, which you should be, try Black Pig for a great twist on traditional choices like the French toast or the Black Pig benedict. It’s always been in discussion for the best brunch in Cleveland and for good reason.

felice urban café

cleveland, ohio

I was having a hard time deciding where to include Felice because quite honestly, it could fit under Favorite Restaurants, Brunch and/or Vegan Friendly. A family owned restaurant since the doors opened in 2008, Felice has quickly earned its spot as one of my favorite places to eat in Cleveland. I could go on and on about the vibe of Felice, from its setting in a three-story chic home built in 1910 to the outdoor patio (once the driveway/backyard) and outdoor bar (what looks like was once a garage). But what really stands out to me is the quality of their food. Felice is dedicated to supplying locally sourced food whenever possible including from their own garden. If you look at the bottom of the menu, they list their local food/beverage sources. Felice also caters to all dietary preferences and even offers a menu exclusive to plant based eaters. Their mission is simple yet appreciated: to offer fresh, house-made food in a relaxed environment allowing you to feel right at home.
